Reports of irregularities increase in number in second half of election day
Reports of voting irregularities continue coming in from polling stations in Chisinau and other parts of the country, with an upward tendency in the second half of the day, according to Promo-Lex observers.
In some polling stations the seal protecting the ballot boxes were missing, being replaced with adhesive tape. The were cases where the voting booths were covered with translucent material. A great part of the polling places across the country do not have heat supply.
Promo-Lex jurist Pavel Postica has said that the irregularities are chiefly due to the poor training of the election officers at the polling places where these irregularities are registered.
The mobile ballot box destined for the voters in the Bender penitentiary hasn't reached its destination as the Transnistrian authorities blocked the access.
The Promo-Lex association carries out its monitoring mission within the framework of the Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections.
