The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Parliament on January 9 is examining the report on the liberalization of the visa regime for Moldovan travelers. The European Commission’s proposal to abolish the visa requirements for Moldovans will be presented in the meeting.
“The appraisal of this committee is decisive in the decision-making process of the European Parliament. Together with the appraisal of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, it represents the precondition needed for taking the final decision,” head of the press service of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry Ana Taban stated for IPN.
The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs is to give an answer in February. The final decision will be communicated to the European Parliament in May.
Earlier, a number of Moldovan officials said that Moldova will benefit from a liberalized visa regime with the EU by the beginning of this summer.
