A man aged 28 from Chisinau municipality, who was earlier tried for robbery, was arrested on suspicion that he worked out a scheme to kidnap two persons for getting a ransom of €150,000, IPN reports, quoting the General Police Inspectorate.

The police established that a group of people led by the 28-year-old man intended to kidnap the son and wife of a businessman from Chisinau municipality. The group’s leader was arrested when he prepared to kidnap the 33-year-old woman and her daughter aged three.

As a result of searches in the man’s car, the police found and seized a notebook through which the suspect followed the victims online. The man worked in the IT sector and had access to all the information about the personal life of the victims. The suspect admitted his guilt and was placed under arrest for 30 days. He faces 13 to 15 years in jail.
