The Central Election Commission (CEC) yesterday scheduled for July 15 repeat local elections to be held in Sirauti village, Briceini district, and in Mihaileni village, Rascani district. In Sirauti the elections will be held for the mayor’s office, as the June 17 polls were declared invalid by court due to numerous violations in the electoral process. The residents of Mihaileni village will be called on Sunday to the polling stations to vote for the district councillors. They will also have to choose between the two candidates for mayor who polled the best on June 3. According to a previous decision by CEC, repeat elections will take place on the same day in Bobeica commune and Dancu village, Hancesti district.
