The repair works on Columna St may be extended until the end of this year owing to the delayed laying of the water pipe and sewerage system, Info-Prim Neo reports. The street was repaired up to the section between the streets Tighina and Ismail. In Monday’s meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, the head of the Capital Constructions Division Roman Sofroni said the water pipe is being replaced and the dwellers are being connected to the water supply system. In this connection, the director of the water supplier “Apa-Canal Chisinau” Constantin Becciev said the contractor underestimated the cost of the works and the expenditure estimate is not accurate. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked that the repaired part of the street, from Alecsandri St up to Tighina St, be adjusted for traffic. He also requested that all the streets that are repaired in Chisinau should include lit and regularly repainted tracks for cyclists. In the same meeting, Roman Sofroni said that new street lamps were set up in sectors 1, 2 and 3 of “Valea Morilor” Park last week. The lamps in sector 4 will be placed by this weekend.
