Starting with next year, the works to repair and modernize the yards of apartment buildings in Chisinau will be financed 70% by the local authorities and 30% by dwellers. The subject was discussed in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.

Vitalie Mihalache, acting head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division, said that a huge amount of work is carried out in yards. In total, 27 block yards are currently being repaired and modernized. The contractor is behind schedule because the necessary materials were unavailable on the market, but the problem was solved.

The official said there are cases when the dwellers are those who oppose the execution of works in the yards in which they live, even if these works are carried out with municipal funds.

Mayor Ion Ceban said that no one should be obliged as there are multiple requests to perform repair and modernization works in yards. The yard repair concept should be rethought for next year so that these works are 30% covered by dwellers.
