The repair works on the Cascades’ Stairs in the Park “Valea Morilor”, with fountains and decorative lighting systems, will be finished in the second half of October, by the Chisinau City Day, IPN reports, quoting the municipal authorities.

In the September 12 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, the Capital Constructions Division’s head Roman Sofroni said the works are on the last 100 meters. The water pipes and lighting networks are being connected to the central systems. The placing of decorative elements is also to be finished. All kinds of individuals come yet to this area at night and damage the construction and this is a problem.

As regards the ensuring of the area’s security, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said video cameras will be set up there, but the perimeter will be intensely patrolled by then.

The project to restore the Cascades’ Stairs was designed by the municipal institute “Chisinau-Proiect” and was endorsed by the Ministry of Culture. The value of the project is about 15 million lei. The money was collocated from the municipal budget.
