The media institutions of the country will be able to rent spaces at lower prices in the Press House, as well as in other buildings administered by the Government. An order to this effect was signed by Andrei Spînu, Secretary General of the Government.
The decision comes as a result of several notifications from the media, referring to the exaggerated prices for renting spaces, IPN reports with reference to a Government press release.
"Actually there is almost no media in the Press House. It's all you want, except mass media. We have been notified by several media. I demand that this order be carried out, and all contracts be revised within 30 days, so as to finally have free media, without putting a spanner in the works," said the Secretary General of the Government during a meeting with top specialists from the field.
Andrei Spînu also said that so far mass media institutions have been renting spaces at the maximum 1.5 market coefficient. The issued order provides for the reduction of the coefficient to 1.0 for processing the lease agreements between the media and the General Division for Government buildings administration of the Republic of Moldova.
The Department for Patrimony administration shall be in charge of carrying out the order.
