Last-generation pumps started to be installed at the water pumping stations Buiucani and Independenta. According to the municipal water supplier, the new pumps were tested at the plant where they were produced and then were delivered to Moldova. This July, there will be tested the largest water pump that will be installed at the pumping station of Rank II A in Vadul lui Voda town, IPN reports.
In a press release, SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” said works to build and mount the mechanical equipment delivered by the contractor SRL “Polimer Gaz Conducte” are being performed at the wastewater pumping station Vatra, Codru and Motel, in accordance with the contract conditions.
When the renovation works are completed, the water supplier will be able to save 27% of the consumed power, which is 2.277,929 million kWh a year. Also, the capacity to pump wastewater will increase given the rise in population in particular areas.
The works will be completed in a year of the contract signing date – October 9, 2017.
According to the supplier, a number of contracts are now being implemented under the program financed with funds from the EBRD, EIB and the EU’s Neighborhood Investment Facility. These refer mainly to the rehabilitation of water and sewer pipelines and of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the installation of the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.
