The leader of “Our” Party Renato Usatyi will come to Moldova on May 6 to submit the documents needed for being registered as a candidate for the mayoralty of Balti. He made the announcement in a news conference in Moscow, which was broadcast live in Chisinau. Renato Usatyi said there is a risk that he will be arrested at the airport given that 16 criminal cases were started against him, IPN reports.

Renato Usatyi stated that his slogan in the election campaign is “You decide, we do”, while his electoral program envisions the development of Balti municipality and the regions through bilateral investment agreements that will be signed with Russian regions. Currently, they are discussing such an agreement between Balti and Saint Petersburg.

Asked about his relations with the pro-Russian parties of Moldova, especially the Party of Socialists, Renato Usatyi said he reached an agreement with the Socialist leader Igor Dodon, referring to the second round of the local elections. If a candidate of “Our” Party competes in the second round of voting in a particular settlement, he/she will be supported by the Party of Socialists and vice versa.
