Businessman Renato Usatyi, who is running in the November 30 parliamentary elections, threatens to stage violent mass protests if he is removed from the electoral race. He made such warnings in the program “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.
“Those from the government do everything possible to remove me from the electoral race. I say it seriously: if they do this I will take the people to the streets and they will see what principles, values and the European Union mean,” stated Renato Usatyi.
He noted that police officers are fabricating evidence against him. “I received a video recording from Drochia, where police officers, by order of the commissioner of Drochia, force war veterans whom I earlier helped to sign written statements saying that I offered them money in the election campaign,” he said, reiterating that when he comes to power, he will make effort for particular representatives of the current power to be jailed.
The controversial businessman threatened also the diplomatic corps in Moldova. ”I will close the U.S Embassy and will open a karaoke club there if they do not behave. Any embassy will have such a fate if they become involved in our affairs, promote certain parties, send trainers here and stage camps in Vadul lui Voda,” he stated.
Renato Usatyi added that when he comes to power, he will launch a two-year competition between the European Union and the Customs Union as a result of which the Moldovans will see where it is better. A referendum will be held afterward for the people to say themselves what union Moldova should join.
