The chairman of “Our Party” Renato Usatyi said that Vladimir Plahotniuc offered him US$1.5 million for him to be absent from Moldova during September – November. Usatyi made such a statement in the talk show “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.
“I had two meetings with Plahotniuc – one on June 6 and another one on June 10. He told me that I and Nastase thwarted his plans and he didn’t become Prime Minister because of us. He told me that he has a plan for October and that large-scale protests will be mounted and I must leave the Republic of Moldova. Plahotniuc told me that he could give me more money if I definitively withdrew from politics. We were to have one more meeting, but this didn’t take place. It’s clear that he has a diabolic plan and he could foil the presidential elections,” stated the leader of “Our Party”.
Usatyi noted he is aware that he exposes himself to a big risk by making these revelations. “He is ready to physically liquidate persons for remaining in power. He could aim the police and the prosecution service against me. He threatened me that he will destroy me, as he did with Andrei Nastase, whom he almost destroyed, as he said. But I’m not afraid. I will withdraw from politics only when I see the country free from Plahotniuc and him in jail,” added the politician.
The politician made it clear that the criminal leader Grigore Caramalac, who left Moldova at the end of the 2000s as a result of a resounding case, is a real threat to Plahotniuc. “Caramalac could return to Moldova soon and Plahotniuc will have to answer some questions,” he stated.
