The leader of the Our Party Renato Usatyi anticipates that the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban will soon join a center-right party of the Republic of Moldova and will take part in the snap parliamentary elections. He avoided saying what party he refers to, but noted that Ceban will fully dissociate himself from the party led by Igor Dodon, IPN reports.
Even if officially he does not form part of the PSRM, the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban campaigned in favor of Igor Dodon at the presidential elections and was seen at the meetings of the PSRM for many times. According to Renato Usatyi, Ion Ceban will soon fully distance himself from the Party of Socialists and will join another Moldovan party.
“I assure you that in two weeks, Ion Ceban will declare that he will lead a party in the snap parliamentary elections. This is a center-right party that was already registered as there is no time left for creating an own party if you want to run in elections,” the leader of Our Party stated in the talk show “Secrets of the Power” on Jurnal TV channel.
According to him, a number of parties were founded in Moldova with the aim of dispersing the voters of the large parties, while the political party “Ours” was created for the purpose of attracting votes from Our Party.
“Ion Chicu has a separate party. Mariana Durleșteanu, judging by her recent statements, will run alongside an existing party or will manage a party. Dodon started to prepare spoilers. The party “Ours” was created to steal votes from us as its initials are also “PN” so that the people mix the two parties up,” stated Renato Usatyi.
Under the decree signed by President Maia Sandu, the snap parliamentary elections will take place on July 11, 2021.
