The leader of the Political Party “Our Party” (PPPN) Renato Usatyi, against whom the Prosecutor General’s Office started a criminal case, intends to soon return to Moldova from Russia, where he is now, IPN reports, quoting a communique of the party.
Renato Usatyi said the starting of a criminal case against him can be a maneuver performed to distract attention. According to him, he would be arrested, while the government would be meanwhile invested so as to divert the society’s attention from the real problems existing in the country.
The leader of the PPPN considers his arrest is possible. “There was a subtle message – Usatyi, don’t come to Moldova because we will arrest you. The last time they held me for several days, but now they will probably hold me much longer. I don’t know if I’m arrested, but I will return home Wednesday morning at the latest,” he stated.
In the evening of January 18, the Prosecutor General’s Office said it started a criminal case against Renato Usatyi over threats with the use of violence against a person holding an important post following a requisition made by the Presidential Office.
