Controversial politician Renato Usatyi, who returned to Moldova after a period of almost half a year, does not rule out the possibility that he will be arrested by order of leaders of the ruling alliance. Renato Usatyi spoke about this in the talk show “Interpol” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.
“The tense situation in the country saved me as my arrest would have stirred things up even more. You saw how many people met me at the Airport. I possess information that Vlad Filat ordered that I should not be arrested. He told his coalition colleagues that they must not lose power and they should better fight against the Russians than have another ‘April 7’. But they will later stage provocations so that I could be handcuffed,” said the politician.
Usatyi noted that namely Vlad Plahotniuc and Vlad Filat ordered starting a number of criminal cases against him and removing the party on whose ticket he ran from the electoral race last autumn. “What they did, more Plahotnuc and less Filat, exceeds any limit. If I hadn’t left the country then, I would have been arrested and then destroyed physically in jail,” he stated.
Renato Usatyi said he will run in the mayoral elections in Balti municipality and will definitely win as at least 30% of the electors will vote for the “Our” Party that he heads.
