Renato Usatyi: Dodon’s and Plahotniuc’s strategy is to avoid snap elections

The president of Our Party Renato Usatyi considers the main goal of Igor Dodon and Vlad Plahotniuc is to avoid snap parliamentary elections and to discredit incumbent President Maia Sandu, IPN reports.

“They discuss through the agency of intermediaries and their goals now coincide – they aim to do everything possible to lower the rating of President Sandu and to have snap elections as late as possible. Most of the groups that are now in Parliament will not enter the next legislature, but they spent millions on these defections, switches and returns,” Renato Usatyi stated in the program “Secrets of the Power” on Jurnal TV channel.

According to him, the Socialist MPs and the MPs of the Shor Party will act concertedly from now on and will mimic the wish to induce snap parliamentary elections.

“The strategy of Dodon, together with Shor, is for all the pandemic, social and economic problems to be made the burden of Maia Sandu. They realize that their partnership and their current unofficial majority will be impossible in the future Parliament. Therefore, they do not want snap parliamentary elections,” stated the politician.

Renato Usatyi insists that President Maia Sandu should nominate him as Prime Minister as he would not garner the necessary number of votes in Parliament. He said he was contacted by a President’s adviser and they agreed a meeting with President Sandu that will take place immediately after her return from Brussels.
