Incumbent President Igor Dodon will submit the documents for being registered as an election runner on the last 100 meters. Meanwhile, he will profit from the administrative resources so as to campaign, said mayor of Bălți municipality Renato Usatyi, being quoted by IPN.

“Dodon aims to travel through the country and show that he is a caring President. He could make one more visit to go after prayers, after money,” the mayor stated in the talk show “Secrets of the Power” on Jurnal TV channel.

Renato Usatyi noted that Igor Dodon has no chance of winning a second term in office. The polls presented by the incumbent President are false and in the nearest future he will make public a survey with real data about the positions of the favorites in this autumn’s presidential elections.

“Dodon’s rating is falling. This is under 30% and he can use all the associations that were earlier used by Plahotniuc,” stated the president of Our Party.

As to an eventual refusal by the CEC to register him as an electoral contender because of the criminal cases that were allegedly started against him in Russia, Renato Usatyi said these are scarecrows invented by Dodon.

“When the elections are coming, two months before them, Usatyi has criminal cases started against him. This is a tradition already. In 2014, I wanted to “kill” Cavcaliuc and then there was the “attempted coup”, while in 2016 “Gorbuntsov”. When the case reaches the court, I do not have at least the status of witness there. It is a campaign staged in unison,” concluded the mayor.
