The former chairman of the party “Our Party” Renato Usatyi, ex-mayor of Balti, has announced his return to Moldovan politics. In a news conference, he noted that the decision was taken due to the defective way in which the Republic of Moldova is governed, he being also motivated by the results of an opinion poll in which about 20% of those polled said they would like him to return to politics, IPN reports.
“Over 20% of the respondents said that Renato Usatyi should return. We look for excuses, saying that this crisis was caused by the war in Ukraine. We should become an economic center to support the country’s citizens and also the citizens of Ukraine. Instead of becoming an industrial center to support the business community, we became a political testing ground that causes the disappearance of the Republic of Moldova as a state,” noted Renato Usatyi.
He also said that he will visit each locality in the Republic of Moldova so as to review the existing party bodies and to create new ones.
“We will hold the party’s congress so as to elect the chairman of the party. We have eight town mayors. There are many people who are disappointed with the current government and also with the opposition. About 3,000 members of the party said that they want our political activities to be continued. We didn’t lose any town of those in which we won the mayoral elections in 2015,” stated Renato Usatyi.
He called on President Maia Sandu to have talks with the healthy political forces so as to compile a list of professionals who would form an anti-crisis government.
“If an anti-crisis government is not formed, we will have snap parliamentary elections that I’m sure will take place before the local elections of 2023. Maia Sandu will trigger them as she wants to get rid of the “ineffective” baggage. The snap elections should bring specialists, not dominators on the lists,” said Renato Usatyi.
The politician said that he designed an action plan that can be implemented swiftly to bring economic benefits to the Republic of Moldova, but this will be presented later.
