If the billboards set up on the section of Dacia Blvd. between the City’s Gates and the Airport are taken away, damage of over 2 million lei will be caused to the municipal budget, considers the Association of Advertising Agencies (ААРМ), Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on May 3, AAPM member Victoria Barba said that 2 million lei will not be collected into the Chisinau budget and 1 million lei will not be collected into the state budget after the given billboards are removed. This will affect the people in general and the employees of advertising companies in particular. The advertising operators say they are ready to contribute to the lighting of this road section so as to help save municipal resources. The investments will enable to create a new image to the boulevard and the economic entities will be able to continue work and pay taxes into the local and state budgets. According to the members of the ААРМ, this road section is very important. The head of the Association’s Council Serghei Hasanov said that in cooperation with design organizations they are trying to find a solution for modernizing this sector. A project to this effect will be soon presented to the City Hall and society. The ААРМ is decided to appeal the mayor’s decision to take down the billboards located on Dacia Blvd. to court. The Association’s members consider the decision was taken in non-transparent conditions and the relevant economic entities weren’t consulted. As many as 54 companies work in the given perimeter. The mayor of Chisinau ordered removing the billboards set up illegally on the section between the City’s Gates and the Airport by June 1. If the owners of the billboards do not comply, the City Hall will take them away by force.
