The Buiucani Court accepted the prosecutors’ request to extend the detention on remand for businessman Veaceslav Platon for another 30 days, IPN reports.
Also, the court rejected lawyers’ request to change the remand detention form of the businessman, dismissing it as groundless. Thus, Veaceslav Platon remains in penitentiary.
Veaceslav Platon was arrested in Ukraine and extradited to Moldova on August 29, 2016. He is held at Penitentiary No. 13 in Chisinau. He is accused of swindle and money laundering by which damage of over 800 million lei was caused to Banca de Economii.
