Relationship between schools and parents’ associations will be regulated by partnership agreements

The cooperation between educational institutions and parents’ associations will be regulated by partnership agreements. A regulation containing such rules developed by the Ministry of Education came into effect after being published in the Official Gazette, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Deputy Minister of Education Tatiana Potang, the regulation stipulates that parents must participate in associations willingly and forbids any coercion or intimidation. It also provides protection of families that can’t or don’t want to participate in associations and outlaws the involvement of school employees in the collection and management of money. The regulation stipulates responsibility for infringing the rules of cooperation between educational institutions and nongovernmental associations. The involvement of school employees in the collection and management of money for associations is a severe infringement of work obligations and is punishable accordingly.
