The young people aged between 15 and 16 who are involved in production are banned from manually conveying any kind of weight. Those aged between 16 and 18 can carry weights of 2 kg, but the total weight conveyed during a shift must not exceed 700 kg. Relevant regulations were approved by the Government on July 3, IPN reports.
The regulations provide that the young people studying in colleges and vocational schools can be engaged in production works only for at most 4 hours a day. The duration of manual conveyance of weights must not exceed one third of the duration of the shift.
Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said the goal of the regulations is to protect the rights and interests of the working young people and to eliminate the worst forms of child labor.
