The right to use the official or historical name of the state in brands, drawings or industrial models will be provided based on new regulations. The document approved by the Government regulates the procedure for examining applications submitted by private individuals and legal entities from different areas of activity and the restrictions on the use of the name of the state, IPN reports.
To obtain the right to use the name of the country, the applicant will go to a special commission whose composition and functioning regulations were approved today.
The application addressed to the commission will be submitted to the State Agency on Intellectual Property and will be examined during 30 days. If the necessary conditions are met and the quality or nature of the product or service provided by the applicant does not affect the image or interests of the state, the commission will give permission for using the name “Republic of Moldova” or “Moldova”. Or it will not grant the request.
