Regulation on transport of passengers and baggage in Chisinau cannot be enforced: Chisinau mayor
The regulation of the vehicles carrying passengers and baggages in Chisinau, in the version in which it was voted at the last sitting of the Chisinau Council, can neither be accepted, nor enforced, as it comprises many unlawful stipulations. That is what mayor Dorin Chirtoaca stated at a sitting with the representatives of private transporters from Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the PR Direction of the City Hall, the regulation had been discussed at the last sitting of the Chisinau Council, upon the initiative of councilor Oleg Oniscenco, without having the support of the transport department the City Hall.
The Chisinau mayor asks for solutions to transfer the minibus routes to the streets they had previously been running on, on condition of observing certain well-established rules, better discipline, halting only at bus-stops, moving only on the first lane meant for the public transport, reads the release.
Dorin Chirtoaca said he would propose the Chisinau Council to re-examine the regulation, specifying that the City Hall and the carriers have the same opinion in this problem.
