The owners of pneumatic weapons will be obliged to register them. If this is not done by October 25, 2018, the guns will be confiscated if they are found. A legislative initiative to this effect is to be submitted by the Ministry of the Interior, IPN reports.
The General Police Inspectorate said that according to their special purpose, the pneumatic weapons are shooting guns and must be used only in shooting ranges for training or in sports competitions and for recreation. Statistics show that the police in the first five months of this year confiscated 55 pneumatic weapons during the investigation of incidents, contraventions and offenses.
Now the law bans the use of air guns in public places. Some of the owners misuse these weapons and commit acts of hooliganism, poaching or even cause bodily injures.
Under the current legislation, the pneumatic weapons are carried without authorization and do not need purchase permit from the police. These are sold freely at shops authorized to import and sell guns and ammunition or can be obtained by donation or inheritance.
