Registration of electoral candidates completed
31 candidates run for the office of Chisinau Municipal Councillor, and 19 persons for Mayor General. The District Election Council of the Municipality of Chisinau has completed the registration of all the candidates for the elections scheduled for June 3.
Veaceslav Iordan runs for mayor on behalf of the Party of Communists, Ion Mereuta is the candidate of the Humanist Party of Moldova, Leonid Bujor, the candidate of the Alliance “Moldova Noastra”, Vladimir Filat, the candidate of the Democrat Party, Dorin Chirtoaca, on behalf of the Liberal Party, Zinaida Zorina – the candidate of the Conservative Party. The other registered candidates are Alexandru Corduneanu of the People’s Christian Democrat Party, Valentin Krylov – Electoral Bloc “Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravie”, Eduard Musuc on behalf of the Social Democrat Party, Corneliu Ciurea, the candidate of the Social Liberal Party, Vitalia Pavlicenco – National Liberal Party, Svetlana Maslitchi – People’s Republican Party, Ludmila Bolboceanu on behalf of the European Party, Dumitru Braghis – Social Democracy Party, Petru Bodarev is an independent candidate, Ilie Bujenita on behalf of the Centrist Union of Moldova, Valentin Tapis – Law and Justice Party, and Mihai Roscovan - independent candidate.
Of those 31 candidates for the office of councillor, 18 are representing political parties and 13 are independent candidates. The party lists were submitted by the same 17 parties which support electoral candidates, as well as the Labour Union “Patria-Rodina”. The independent candidates running for councillor are: Vladimir Garstea, Vasile Ceban, Ecaterina Stratan, Anatoli Soloviov, Tudor Deliu, Vladimir Ianev, Simion Boran, Ion Popa, Iurie Spanu, Serghei Dunabalari, Iurie Timofte, Venera Gasparean and Ion Mamaliga.
The District Election Council refused to register the list of the “European Action” Movement because it was not registered with the Ministry of Justice. In addition, another two persons who submitted the necessary documents to run for councillor were refused registration because of some violations found in the lists of signatures.
