The lawmakers voted amendments to the Law on the Governmental Agent. One of the amendments provides for the creation of a register to monitor all the decisions taken by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in relation to Moldova, IPN reports.
Acting Minister of Justice Vladimir Grosu argued such changes are needed because a number of reforms were done at the ECHR and the member states of the Council of Europe commit themselves to create internal mechanisms for reducing the number of complaints filed to the ECHR.
A council consisting of scientists and representatives of civil society will be set up under the governmental agent. Also, the governmental agent will make recommendations and will check if the legislative initiatives do not violate the human rights.
Vladimir Grosu said these amendments will contribute to the better observance of the European Convention on Human Rights and will create efficient working conditions for the governmental agent.
