A regional center for HIV-infected persons will be opened in Chisinau on February 27. The Center will work daily and will provide consultancy, recommendations and psychological assistance to persons infected with HIV. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the Municipal Child Rights Protection Division Svetlana Chifa said the center will be housed by the Chisinau Hospital No. 1, where there were performed extensive repair works and bought the necessary equipment. The project was financed by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and by Soros Foundation. The specialists who will provide assistance were selected on a contest basis. The centers will include volunteers who had been trained earlier. There are three such regional centers in Moldova: in Balti, Tiraspol, and Comrat.
