Reforms should be promoted not only in order to impress Europe, Marian Lupu
We must make sure that the reforms are promoted and implemented, not only in order to impress Europe, but also for changing the state of affairs and making the system more efficient, Marian Lupu said in a meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel.
According to a communique from Parliament, Marian Lupu said the reform of the legal system and the law enforcement bodies should be in compliance with the European standards and the coordination with the European institutions is very important in this respect. The Acting President of Moldova pledged to personally contribute to the achievement of these objectives, stressing the Alliance for European Integration fully supports the promotion of reforms.
For his part, Dirk Schuebel praised the Moldovan authorities for their efforts to promote the reforms. He said that in the meeting they reached conclusions and agreed joint steps that will be taken in the near future.
The two officials also discussed the progress made in negotiating the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU and the holding of Europe Day in Chisinau and Balti. Marian Lupu thanked the Europa Delegation to Moldova for its involvement in organizing this day.
