Reform of Interior Ministry will continue with demilitarization
The reform of the Ministry of the Interior will continue with the demilitarization of the staff that is not involved in prosecution activities. These persons will be deprived of the status of servicepersons and all the privileges they now enjoy, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the head of the Ministry’s executive Igor Trofimov, the reform may start on January 1, 2013 and will have a direct impact on the jurists, secretaries and other persons working at the Ministry.
Igor Trofimov admitted that these changes may result in redundancies. “It should be noted that we also work on morality issues and organizational aspects,” he stated in a press briefing.
According to Trofimov, the most serious problems in the Ministry’s system appear when the officers do not record all the complaints from people in order to maintain a constant number of discovered offences, as they were taught 3-4 years ago. As a result, by 3-4 employees of the Ministry are penalized weekly.
Until now, the reform of the Ministry of the Interior has improved the communication with civil society. But the changes made so far centered mainly on the outfitting of a number of institutions with equipment, especially video cameras, and the modification of posts and structures.
