The reform agenda for 2017-2018 will be discussed in a joint meeting of the Government and Parliament, Prime Minister Pavel Filip informed the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola in a meeting. The Premier reiterated the Cabinet’s firm determination to do reforms and to continue on the path of European integration, IPN reports.
“We follow the European path because we want to offer our people a quality of life similar to that in the European Union Member States,” stated Pavel Filip.
He also spoke about the executive’s priorities for the immediate future. “We must lay emphasis on the strengthening of institutions and think about the salaries of employees from the public system,” said the Prime Minister.
For his part, Pirkka Tapiola encouraged the Cabinet to make concerted effort to ensure stability in society. “If thinking about where we were half a year ago, I can say with certitude that the glass is half full. A lot of work was done in the period,” stated the Head of the EU Delegation in Chisinau.
The officials also conferred on the Transnistrian conflict settlement. In this connection, Pavel Filip said the groups of exerts will be making effort to identify joint solutions to the existing problems.
