The Chisinau Appeals Court suspended the holding of the referendum on dismissing the mayor of Seliste village of Orhei district, which was to take place on June 15. Such a decision was taken following a request made by the mayor of Seliste, secretary of the Central Election Commission Andrei Volentir has told IPN.

The plebiscite was suspended owing to a dispute between the mayor and the initiative group that requested discharging the mayor and collected signatures in this respect.

Andrei Volentir said it’s not excluded that the referendum will take place later. The decision of the Chisinau Appeals Court can be appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice within 15 days.
