The slab between the 13th and 14th floors of the apartment building on Moscova Blvd that was damaged by a blast will be demolished and reconstructed. The other two slabs destroyed in the blast will be reconstructed afterward. The Chisinau General Public Amenities Division was empowered to carry out the works.
Contacted by IPN, the Division’s head Ion Burdiumov said the slab between the 13th and 14th floors of the apartment building that was damaged after the other two slabs collapsed is to be demolished. When these works are completed, all the three slabs and the façade of the block will be rebuilt.
According to Ion Burdiumov, the works will last for six-eight weeks. A slab is built during two days and 14 days are then needed for this to harden. The scaffolding will be later put up to build the next slab.
The General Public Amenities Division will also restore the elevators and all the engineering networks inside the block, simultaneously with the designing and building works.
The October 6 blast was reportedly caused by a gas leak. Five persons, among whom a child aged four, were killed.
