The process of renovating student dormitory No. 5 of "Ion Creangă" State Teacher Training University started. All the rooms of the building located on Suceava St in Chisinau will be replanned. A new ventilation system is to be built and the roof will be rebuilt, IPN reports.
Some of the students participated in the public consultations on the social and environmental aspects associated with the reconstruction of the building. A total of 210 students will have access to better living conditions, the Ministry of Education and Research said in a press release.
The project includes the replacement of all indoor heating, electricity and signaling networks, as well as the modernization of the municipal water and sewerage networks. The reconstruction process will last for nine months.
The investments of €1.8 million are made by the World Bank within the Moldova Higher Education Project that is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova. The World Bank will also support the renovation of dormitory No. 2 of the Moldova State University, with a capacity of 172 places.
