The recommended minimum price for wine grapes is 6.5 lei/kg. In calculating it, the Council on the product chain “Grapes, wine, wine-based products and processed products” took into account the cost price of one kilogram of grapes relative to a harvest of about 8 tonnes/ha.

The Council, which includes representatives of relevant government agencies, the National Office of Vine and Wine and professional associations, recommends that the purchase prices be differentiated by variety, the Protected Geographical Indication and the quality of the grapes.

The grape harvest in Moldova this year is estimated to be by 10-20% lower than last year and will range 4 to 10 tonnes per hectare.
