Recommendations for drivers and pedestrians on dog days

The motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid trips when it is very hot outside, especially between 10am and 6pm. If traveling is a necessity, the drivers are urged to use the vents, to often stop in the shadow to rest and drink water and to check the pressure in the wheels and state of tires. Such recommendations were formulated by the National Patrolling Inspectorate, IPN reports.

The patrolling officers warn that the very high temperatures can cause a higher number of road accidents. “The inattention of drivers, discomfort or relaxation during vacation and the period of leave taking can determine numerous unpleasant traffic incidents,” the Inspectorate says in a press release.

At the same time, the high temperatures inside the vehicle can aggravate the state of tiredness that is seen first in the delayed reaction of the driver and then in concentration difficulty and can cause the motorist to fall asleep.
