Recommendations for dog days

To prevent the worsening of chronic diseases and avoid sunstrokes and other negative effects of the hot weather, the Chisinau Public Health Center recommends the population to avoid walks between 10am and 6pm, to drink more water and to wear clothes from light-colored natural textiles, IPN reports.

The adults are warned to permanently supervise the children and to never let them alone inside cars, not even for a while. s

It is recommended giving up drinking alcoholic beverages, including beer, and beverages that contain caffeine. The use of domestic appliances and artificial lighting should be reduced.

The employers are recommended to give by 1-2.5 liters of water to each employee and to provide breaks of two-six hours when the temperatures in the occupational environment cannot be reduced to the comfortable ones. If temperatures exceed 28 degrees Celsius, activity is banned, except of the emergency services.

The Chisinau Public Health Center also addressed recommendations to the local public authorities, such as to set up free drinking water distribution and first aid points in crowded places and to ban the staging of activities in the open air between 10am and 6pm.

The State Hydrometeorological Service has issued a yellow cede advisory for hot weather that is valid until July 1. Daytime temperatures in the period will rise to +37 degrees Celsius.
