The National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) requests the recipients of pensions set based on international social security agreements to present life certificates. The persons who settled in another state and benefit from pension for the insurance period recorded in Moldova are obliged to present a life certificate to the CNAS by December 31 each year, IPN reports.

According to the House, only 471 of the 688 persons who get pensions paid in Bulgaria, Portugal, Romania, Luxemburg, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, and Germany submitted life certificates to the CNAS. The transfer of pensions for 217 recipients was suspended on January 1, 2020 and can be resumed only if the certificate showing that the person is alive is presented.

The life certificate can be downloaded from the official website of the CNAS and is presented in person to the central or any local house of social insurance.

The recipients of pensions who live permanently on the territory of another state can go to the competent authority of this state and ask for confirmation that the life certificate was signed and dated by the recipient in person.
