Recipients of German Bundestag scholarships to be chosen next week

A German delegation will be working in Chisinau during September 11-13 to select the Moldovan beneficiaries of the 2018 International Parliamentary Scholarship program that is supported by the German Bundestag, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Embassy of Germany in Chisinau says the delegation will have a meeting with Deputy Speaker of Parliament Iurie Leanca. A public communication session about the International Parliamentary Scholarship program will be held at the Faculty of International Relations, Political and Administrative Sciences of the State University of Moldova on September 12 (in German, with interpretation in Romanian).

The German Bundestag International Parliamentary Scholarship program annually offers Moldovan young people the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of Germany’s system of parliamentary government. Since 2008 until now, 28 young people from Moldova benefited from this opportunity. The program annually involves 120 scholars from 41 states.

The scheme consists of fifteen-week placements with Members of the German Bundestag and lectures at one of the universities of Berlin. The IPS program is aimed at highly qualified young men and women who are interested in politics and who are proficient in German. All the costs are covered by the German Bundestag.
