A 51-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the rape of a 17-year-old girl. The teenager was a friend of his concubine’s daughter, IPN reports.

It happened two years ago in a village in central Moldova, at the man’s home. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, by physical coercion, he had a sexual intercourse with the minor, against her will.

Earlier, the man was convicted of other crimes and served another sentence for rape.

The recently pronounced sentence can be appealed. If it is upheld, the convict will serve his sentence in a semi-closed prison.

According to data from the Prosecutor’s Office, 131 rape cases were referred to the court last year.
