A man aged 25 who was recently released from jail is suspected of killing and then setting fire to a taxi driver, IPN reports.
At the end of August, the police in Chisinau reported that a 49-year-old man who worked as a cab driver went missing. It was established that the taxi driver was to take a client to a village in Dubasari district in the evening of August 23. The passenger was a man aged 25 from Orhei district. This was recently released from prison after serving time for human trafficking.
When questioned by the police, the suspect admitted that he got into a quarrel with the taxi driver over the money he was to pay. He hit the driver with a metal object, took the body to a field and set fire to this.
The young man faces 15 to 20 years in jail or life for intentional murder committed with special cruelty.
