Recean and Costa discuss the results achieved after submitting the application for membership

Chief Executive Dorin Recean met the President of the European Council António Costa, who is on a working visit to Chisinau. The officials discussed the way in which the European community supports the Republic of Moldova and the results achieved in the EU accession process, IPN reports.

"As an accession candidate state, we have a strong partnership with European countries and we benefit from continuous support," the head of the government emphasized.

The Prime Minister referred to the assistance provided by the EU, including the growth plan for Moldova, which will invest 1.9 billion euro over the next three years. Dorin Recean said that part of the allocated money will be directed to the compensation of bills and modernization of infrastructure.

The European Council President's visit to Chisinau marks three years since Moldova applied to join the European Union. Politicians discussed the progress made by our country in the last three years.

In Chisinau, António Costa met President Maia Sandu, students and professors of the State University of Moldova, entrepreneurs, journalists and representatives of civil society.
