The 21-year-old man who is suspected of killing the seven-year-old girl from Recea village of Rascani district was remanded in custody for 30 days. The information was confirmed for IPN by press officer of the Prosecutor General’s Office Violina Moraru.

The man will be held on remand at Penitentiary No. 11 situated in the municipality of Balti.

The seven-year-old girl on Monday went to play in the neighborhood and didn’t return. The family looked for her, but all in vain and towards evening went to the police. The searches lasted throughout the night and involved the use of drones and search dogs. The body was found in a deserted house in the village on Tuesday afternoon. Presumably, the girl went to the suspect’s house that is situated not far from the house of the girl’s family. Locals said the older brother was kind to the girl and gave her candies. That day he wasn’t at home. The younger brother, who is reportedly addicted to video games, was bothered by the child’s visit. The girl was found strangled.
