The lack of exact treatment against COVID-19, the lack of a vaccine, the autumn season of viral infections and the non-observance of the anti-COVID-19 norms are factors that influence the figures of persons who test positive for the novel coronavirus up, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Marina Golovaci stated, being quoted by IPN.
“We witness an essential rise not only in the Republic of Moldova, but all over the European continent and not only. The reasons for the spread of the infection are: lack of efficient treatment that could be used broadly, lack of a vaccine for immunizing the population, which could really prevent the spread of infection, and surely, as I said not only once, the non-observance of the infection prevention and control measures by the whole population,” Marina Golovaci stated in the talk show “Moldova Live” on Moldova 1 TV channel.
Ștefan Gheorghiță, head of the Flu and Ari Epidemiological Supervision Division of the National Public Health Agency, made reference to the global figures.
“If we refer to the tendencies of the process, these are typical for the European region and also for the whole world. I will provide several figures. We had a rising number of infections with COVID-19 until the 39th week and the tendency was slow. In the 39th week, we had 4,270 cases. In the 40th week, we had 5,704 cases. Later, we followed a downward trend, but this inversed in the 44th week and we had 5,079 cases and then 6,933 cases in the 46th week. It is for the first time that we see such a sudden rise,” stated the epidemiologist.
Currently, the highest infection rate is witnessed in Chisinau and then in Edineț district and in Briceni district.
On November 19, Moldova got 1,442 new cases of COVID-19.
