Reanimatology and intensive care section of “V. Ignatenko” Hospital renovated

The reanimatology and intensive care section of the Municipal Children’s Hospital “V. Ignatenko” was repaired and outfitted with medical equipment. There were rehabilitated the water supply, electricity and heating systems and extensively repaired the section’s wards. The woodwork was replaced. The ceremony to reopen the section after renovation was held on January 15, IPN reports.

The Hospital’s director Alexandru Holostenko said the reanimatology and intensive care section was repaired last in 2003 and the renovation was needed as the section no longer met the current conditions in the hospital system. The medical equipment was to be renewed. Now, conditions were also created for the stay of mothers with children.

About 1,000 persons are annually treated at the reanimatology and intensive care section, including children in a serious state involved in domestic and road accidents, who suffered complications of somatic diseases, etc. Alexandru Holostenko said that in the framework of a project implemented in concert with a Dutch foundation, they renovated the medical gas, oxygen and compressed air system of the hospital.

Attending the ceremony, acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said the municipality for 2019 earmarked financial resources for repairing another section of the children’s hospital – the sterilization and pharmacy one.

The renovation costs of 3.2 million lei were covered with municipal budget funds through the Capital Constructions Division.
