In January-August 2006, the average monthly wage of an employee of the Moldovan economy (enterprises with 20 or more employees) constituted MDL 1596.8 and increased compared with the similar period of the previous year by 29% (real salary increased by 15%). The data of the National Bureau of Statistics show that in the budgetary area the average wage constituted MDL 1381.8, in the real sector of the economy – MDL 1712.2. Average wage of an employee in August 2006 amounted to MDL 1766.4, by 31% more compared with August 2005. In the budgetary area the average monthly wage constituted MDL 1501.6, in the real sector – MDL 1897.8. In agriculture, hunting economy and forestry, the average wage in the first 8 months of 2006 constituted MDL 732, and in August MDL 865; in fish breeding – MDL 1073 and respectively MDL 1260, in industry – MDL 1985 and MDL 2181; in extraction industry – MDL 2428 and MDL 3186; in processing industry – MDL 1830 and MDL 1992; in food industry – MDL 1809 and MDL 1975; in constructions – MDL 2233 and MDL 2655; hotel industry – MDL 1330 and MDL 1426; in transportion and communications – MDL 2459 and MDL 2839, in financial activities – MDL 3759 and MDL 4013; estate transactions – MDL 1893 and MDL 2115; in public administration MDL 1945 and MDL 2068. In the education system the average wage at the beginning of the year constituted MDL 1212 and in August MDL 1047; in health and social assistance – MDL 1291 and respectively MDL 1307.
