“Ravnopravie” promises to legalize Russian and a number of minorities’ rights

The protection of minorities’ rights and giving Russian the status of official language are two basic elements of the electoral program of the Sociopolitical Movement “Ravnopravie”, which was presented in a news conference on November 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Ravnopravie” pleads for the maintenance of Moldova’s statehood, closer integration into the Commonwealth of Independent States and restoration of good relations with Russia. The candidates of “Ravnopravie” promise that if they enter Parliament, they will decrease the tariffs of gas and oil products by strengthening the dialogue with Russia. The movement is also in favor of the abolition of the visa regime between Moldova and the European Union. The candidate for MPBoris Shapovalov stressed that the movement’s list of candidates includes representatives of all the ethnic groups leaving in Moldova. The organization does not rule out the possibility of forming post-electoral coalitions with parties that pursue not only the same electoral goals, but also support the movement’s electoral platform, he said.
