Ramona Victoria Strugariu's leadership of the National Institute of Justice is postponed. She has submitted a request to postpone the decision on her appointment as director, IPN reports.
According to the INJ, the request was filed for the conduct and finalization of the necessary procedures regarding the right to work and stay.
Former MEP Ramona Victoria Strugariu was announced on February 14 as the winner of the competition for the post of INJ director. Her appointment has sparked a wave of public criticism, as Strungariu does not hold Moldovan citizenship, as she is a Romanian citizen.
According to the INJ's decision, the request for postponement is accepted and from February 17 to March 3, inclusive, the powers of the INJ's director will be exercised by Ecaterina Popa, head of the Training and Research Directorate of the National Institute of Justice.
