Rain causes power outages in 34 settlements

As many as 34 settlements from five districts and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia remained without power following last night’s rain. All of them were reconnected to the supply of electricity by morning, IPN reports.

Civil Protection and Emergencies Service press officer Diana Turcan said that power outages were experienced by the villages Dimitrovca, Cenac, Albina, Ciucur-Mingir, Topala, Gura Galbenei, Hartop, and Fetita of Cimislia districts. Cimislia town was partially disconnected.

In Leova district, the electricity was off in the towns Leova and Iargara and in the villages Tochile-Raducani, Cazangic, Tomai, Seliste, Sarateni, and Sarma. The Gagauz settlements of Ceadir-Lunga, Vulcanesti and Chiriet-Lunga remained partially without electricity.

In Taraclia district, Taraclia town and Chirilovca village were partially disconnected, while in Nisporeni district, Iurceni village remained in the darkness. At night the power was off in the villages Cetireni, Floritoaia Noua, Floritoaia Veche, Grozasca, Untesti, Morenii Vechi, Costuleni, Macaresti, Frasinesti, Saghieni and partially Valea Mare of Ungheni district.

The disconnections started on Tuesday evening, at about 9pm. By 5am, the power supply was restored in all the settlements.
