The torrential rain and high winds of the evening of August 6 caused damage in a number of villages and towns. In Avdarma village of ATU Gagauzia, the wind displaced tiles from over 500 square meters of the roof of an agricultural storehouse, while the rain damaged about 6 hectares of vineyards there, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, in Harcesti village of Ungheni district the rainstorm damaged three warehouses, displacing tiles on an area of 130 square meters. The rain caused havoc in northern Moldova as well. The roof of the theoretical lyceum of Baraboi village of Donduseni district was damaged, while in Mosana and Elizavetovka villages of the same district a number of houses were unroofed.
In Chisinau municipality, the storm damaged 40 square meters of the roof of a 13-story apartment building located on Nicolai Sulac St.
The local emergencies commissions are to assess the extent of the caused damage.
